Central Wins All Sports Trophy

The first year of the Bridgeport Challenge is in the books.  The Central Hilltoppers have been crowned the first All Sports Champions.

All three schools won Challenges during the school year, Bassick won both the Boys and Girls Volleyball titles, Harding won Football and Boys Basketball.  Central ended up winning four of the Challenges in Boys Soccer, Girls Basketball, Softball and Baseball to secure the All Sports win.

(5-27-15) Bassick remained undefeated (4-0) to finish as the Bridgeport Challenge Boys Volleyball Champs.  The Lions knocked off the Hilltoppers in 3 games (25-13, 25-13, 25-19).  Central finishes the Challenge at 0-4.
MVP for the match was Bassick’s David Masala  who had 19 service points with 4 aces and 4 kills.  Helping the Lions in the win were Joel Richards  with  7 kills and Sachim Manning  who added. 6 kills
Boys Volleyball is the final competition in the Bridgeport Challenge for this school year.

SOFTBALL: Central Picks Up Challenge Win Over Bassick

(Saturday, April 11) In the first game of the Bridgeport Challenge in softball, Central cruises to a 21-6 win over Bassick.  The Hilltoppers scored 14 runs in the first two innings and took control for the win.

Central pitcher Senior Kendall Washington, was named the game’s MVP, she struck out eight to pick up the win and also helped her own cause with a home run.

Freshman Danisha Reyes and Sophomore Maliah Pabellon both added two home runs and.Freshman Danielle Nichols added three hits for the Hilltoppers .

Junior Celilia Rivas and Senior J’Daya Hawthorne each had three hits to lead Bassick.
